We find that robust and enriching Arts and Music programs provide opportunities for our troubled children to heal and recover from their past traumas, histories of abuse and addiction. We provide opportunities in visual arts, dance, performance team, music, “spoken word”, poetry and film. By providing an enriched Arts and Music Program, we offer opportunities for them to appropriately deal with their pain, anger, frustration and low self-esteem. As our students learn to explore their feelings, they build connections with others, gain respect for themselves and learn positive alternatives for coping, growing and living that do not involve drugs, abuse, aggression and school failure. This year our dance students have worked extensively with Los Angeles based choreographer Kimmie Morrow. Check some dance team photos from our 2017 Rock The Oaks Event.!
